May 2021 – Open Stats

When I have something to show on a chart then I’ll start making ’em. Probably next month.

Overview

  • Pageviews – 559 (⬆ 6%)
  • Users – 337
  • Sessions – 404
  • Pages/Session – 1.38
  • Goal 1 – Viewed >1 page – 53
  • Goal 2 – On-site >2 mins – 24
  • Goal conversion rate – 19.06%

I created these goals because I think reading a full review (or browsing a few) may take around 2 mins, and also viewing more than one page means engagement. Both of these are metrics that can be used to sell ads or whatever, but they are also useful to know.

Audience

  • New Visitor – 91.6%
  • Returning Visitor – 8.4%

This one isn’t as useful this month because Google Analytics wasn’t enabled before. So this is just returning users in this month, not for the quarter or year or whatever. In future, I’ll look at this for the month, compared to the previous month and for the year to date.

Sources

  • Social – 54.41%
  • Direct – 42.06%
  • Organic – 2.65%
  • Referral – 0.88%

When we break down the social traffic we see:

  • Facebook – 64.71% (of all social traffic)
  • Twitter – 30.48%
  • Reddit – 1.07%
  • Other – 3.74%

Facebook performed incredibly well this month. I think this was due to two factors:

  1. Rob shared the shit out of the site and his articles to his friends
  2. The Boss Keloid and L’Effondras reviews were shared on Facebook by the bands and labels

I’ve recently started a Facebook page, so this will hopefully go up over time. When I start sharing it. I have no idea where the direct traffic is coming from, however.
